The Miss America Adventure

Okay,

So who KNEW what to expect?! Our adventure began on January 25 as we took off for Vegas. It was a week filled with excitement and high emotion. Lindsey has completely captured my heart and I am so proud of her accomplishments. On Thursday night, Lindsey performed her beautiful rendition of "Hallelujah". I guess I never imagined that my path of piano and voice teaching would ever lead me to the Las Vegas strip supporting one of the most beautiful young ladies I've ever had the fortune to meet, and call my friend.
The week was filled with pageantry, preliminaries, rehearsals, and lots and lots of WALKING! We had an amazing view of Las Vegas from the 30th floor of Paris, overlooking the beautiful mountains of Nevada, and the Las Vegas strip. There was plenty of time for a plane trip to the Grand Canyon, Donny and Marie (oh...were they amazing!!!) and Cirque Du Soleil's production of "O". (O my goodness....amazing.....just amazing...) and of course, shopping and more walking! Finally it was the moment we all had been waiting for: the Miss America Pageant on Saturday evening. Winning is a relative term I guess...and from this perspective, WAY over rated! I can only begin to imagine the exciting road that awaits for Lindsey that just wouldn't have been able to happen if she had "won". Thanks to all of you who so enthusiastically supported her and me throughout this adventure.
Lindsey, although you didn't get the big "prize", you are the jewel in the crown of my heart. Thank You for the opportunity, the adventure, and most importantly, the friendship.
